Tipton Sports Academy
Tipton, West Midlands
The opening match up saw the debut of the Charismatic, Energetic "Rowdy" Rob Long, which was well received by the 250+ crowd at the Tipton Sports Academy. His opponent has been on a loosing streak in his AWE tenure and looking to break the chain, "The Sensational 1" Jason Fellows. The match was a back-and-forth contest which saw both individuals get in some heavy offense. However, with the packed crowd behind him Rob Long was able to prevail and get the pin fall over Fellows following a stunner.
The next match saw "Star Man" Mark Clarke and The Masked Inferno take on the team of The Coal Miners (Coal Miner P & Coal Miner D). Ever since "Star Man" accidentally cost The Masked Inferno his Alpha Wrestling Evolution Heavyweight Championship at Breakout, there seems to have been some heat between "Star Man" & Inferno. It proved to be too much for the Inferno to take, when after being inadvertently knocked off the apron by his partner he then refused the tag and allowed the Miners to hit the Mine Shaft for the win over Clarke.
The Masked Inferno waited outside the ring, until the Miners had left. He then got inside the ring and proceeded to hit a new move on Clarke. Inferno then grabbed the Microphone and expressed his bitterness towards Clarke for costing him the title. He then described the fans, "Star Man" and his own mask as "crap" and tore his mask off and proceeded to throw it down on his former partner. He then announced that from now on, he's "The Eagle Street Terrorist" Matt Clarke. He then exited the ring, to a new theme to the disgust of the crowd, turning his back on his brother and the fans.
Our next contest was for the Alpha Wrestling Evolution Heavyweight Title. Big Richard Action came out and said that he wanted Flash Williams to come out to the ring. He proceeded to ask Flash if he had read the very fine print of the contract he signed for this match. Williams seemed confused, Action then explained that in the contract it states that if Flash Williams loses the match up he has to relinquish his part of a member of the AWE roster. He then said that he and "Death Row" Shaun Langley are giving men, and offered Flash the chance to drop out of the match and keep his AWE career.
Williams denied the offer, and stated that he still wanted to challenge for the Alpha Wrestling Evolution title tonight, and would win it for the fans. Big Richard Action seemed unhappy with his decision then stated he would be the ring announcer for this main event. Langley made his way to the ring, with the Alpha Wrestling Evolution title around his waist. The match began with Langley overpowering Williams in a series of lockups, until Flash outsmarted him and the pace began to pick up. Flash, however was cut off and Langley kept on the offensive. Both men threw everything they had at one another and Flash even hit a moonsault on Langley & Action from the top rope to the outside. Big Richard's outside interference was present as ever. It was this that would eventually cost Williams the title and his career with foul play allowed Langley to hit the 'Death Sentence' from the second rope on Williams for the pin.
After the match they rid the ring of Williams and "Death Row" signed the contract for the '15-1 Challenge', which would allow the winner of the Rumble to face him at the December 2nd show 'Rise & Fall', which was then hoisted to the rafters.
*Intermission*
Back from Intermission we got underway with the main event. The 15-1 Royal Rumble Challenge match. The entrant who drew un-lucky #1 was announced as "The Messiah" Brandon Thomas. He was joined by the #2 entrant in the Rumble, the mighty Staxx. The two went all in from the get go until the 10 Countdown when the #3 entrant was announced. At #3 it was "Dangerous" David Daniels. Daniels quickly made a unity with Thomas and the two worked over Staxx. This was until the #4 entrant made his way to the ring, "The Dark Angel" Carl Mizzery. Mizzery hit the ring with an impact giving both Thomas & Daniels a double-springboard-blockbuster.
In at #5, making his Alpha Wrestling Evolution debut was Axel Adams. Adams hit the ring and soon attacked Carl Mizzery. In at #6, also making his AWE debut was Pure Xtasy who went straight for Axel Adams. The man who drew #7 was "The Violent NTT" Chris Hall. He hit the ring with a garbage can of weapons and after numbers Rumble entrants catching the Weapons he threw into the ring, he proceeded to throw a trash can at all of them, taking out three other participants.
Shortly after, Axel Adams was eliminated by "The Violent NTT" when he failed to clothesline Hall over and was countered and thrown out himself. Soon after, Staxx found himself being thrown over the top by both David Daniels & Brandon Thomas. In at #8 was then Nick Knight. The #9 entrant was once again fan favourite "Rowdy" Rob Long who hit the ring fast. #10 was the returning Tommy Gunn, who received a huge ovation from the crowd and made an impact hitting a 450 splash straight on entry. As the Rumble broke down and numerous wrestlers were attempting to eliminate fellow participants, #11 was "The Sensational 1" Jason Fellows.
Shortly into Fellow's entry Rob Long was eliminated by David Daniels, however then whilst celebrating Daniels was caught off guard and then eliminated himself from the Rumble by Tommy Gunn. The #12 spot ended up being two superstars, as the unpredictable Coal Miners announced they would both be entering as the #12 participant. However, the spent as much time as possible stalling at ringside before entering. Unlucky for some, #13 was "Star Man" Mark Clarke, who was injured upon his entry in the Rumble.
Seemingly out of nowhere, the railings were jumped by a man in a hooded jumper who proceeded to enter the ring and throw an un-suspecting "Violent NTT" out of the ring, thus eliminating the hardcore individual. The man removed his hood to reveal he was in fact Jon the Yob. These two have a history that dates back to AWE's inaugural show. Realising who it was "NTT" was quick to pull the Yob under the bottom rope and the two brawled to the back with security and referee's all trying to break the two up.
In at #14 was one half of the Hunter Brothers, Lee Hunter. Hunter hit the ring like a house of fire attacking anyone in his path. Not long after, Pure Xtasy was eliminated by "The Messiah" Brandon Thomas thus ended his chance of becoming Number 1 Contender. Things began to heat up as the former Masked Inferno; "The Eagle Street Terrorist" Matt Clarke drew the lucky #15 spot. As soon as he hit the ring he was lynched by "Star Man" and the two scuffled in a vicious fight until they were broke up and attacked by other participants.
With all the participants now entered, it was anybody’s game. However, the Miners soon lost their chance as both were eliminated by Lee Hunter. Nick Knight was next to take the tumble to the outside, also at the hands of Lee Hunter. The two Clarkes managed to collide again, but this time it cost "Star Man" as he was eliminated by his former partner. Consecutively, Tommy Gunn & Jason Fellows were eliminated by Thomas & Clarke and Hunter & Mizzery respectively. This now meant that the ladders were in play and the new objective was to leave Tipton Sports Academy with the contract.
What we saw following was an insane 4-Way Ladder match which featured sickening shots into and with the ladder, as well as Dives and both Thomas & Clarke getting crotched on the ropes after tumbling from the ladder. The 4 men also engaged in a quadruple German Suplex which rocked the Tipton Sports Academy. However, it would be Lee Hunter that would eventually be able to climb the ladder and reach the contract, with all three other participants hot on his heels. As he captured the contract there was a huge ovation for the crowd as Hunter celebrated with the fans and left the ring. The 15-1 Challenge proved to be a huge success, and incredibly innovative. The match itself surpassing the 50+ minute mark.
