Dark Match: Chris Brookes & Axel Adams vs El Grande & Pure Xtacy went to a No-Contest
In this exclusive dark match that showcased some of the future AWE stars, all 4 wrestlers impressed with their speed, power and athleticism. However, the match never really had a chance to start, as before long Big Richard Action made his way down to ringside and told the 4 in the ring that he was looking to hire some 'talent' for Team Action. El Grande and Chris Brookes obviously were not interested in the offer, but Axel Adams and Pure Xtacy took advantage and destroyed the two youngsters in a shocking act of betrayal and ruthlessness. Once Brookes was laid out with a Spear and El Grande was planted with the Anti-Climax, Xtacy and Adams celebrated inside the ring with Big Richard Action.
"Rowdy" Rob Long def. "The Messiah" Brandon Thomas via Stunner
In this exciting opening contest, Thomas was determined to prove his worth in AWE by destroying The Rowdy One. The Messiah used his power to get the upper hand early on, but the speed and overwhelming energy of Long was too much for Thomas to cope with. At one point, Rob Long even managed to make Thomas pose to the crowd, much to The Messiah's anger. One Stunner later, and the impressive Long picked up another win in his AWE career.
Next, Team Action came down to the ring so Big Richard could choose the next challenger for the AWE Championship. With Shaun Langley, David Daniels, Axel Adams and Pure Xtacy at his disposal, he had quite a choice to make, and after some hesitation, he decided it should be 'Dangerous' David Daniels who should represent Team Action in the main event. 'Death Row' was obviously angry at the decision, but Big Richard Action managed to calm him down.
"The Sensational 1" Jason Fellows def. "Star Man" Mark Clarke via roll-up holding ropes
With both men wanting to prove they were AWE Championship material, they put on a great match with some fantastic moves. 'Star Man' showed off his huge array of moves, and tried a Sunset Flip, vaulting over the ropes, to get the win. The crafty Jason Fellows grabbed the ropes and used his weight advantage to pin Mark Clarke to the mat, gaining his first ever AWE victory.
2XL ("The Dark Angel" Carl Mizzery & Staxx) def. Swift Justice ("Bird Of Prey" Falcon & The Judge) via Frog Splash
The AWE tag-team division was once again highlighted in this exhibition between fan favourites 2XL and Swift Justice. It seemed like Swift Justice were on the road to victory when they systematically and slowly took apart Carl Mizzery. Eventually The Dark Angel managed to spot an opening and got the tag to the larger Staxx, who unloaded on Swift Justice. When it looked like he was closing in on a win, Mizzery took the opportunity to tag himself back in, scaled the ropes and delivered a devestating Frog Splash for the 3 count. At first, Staxx looked annoyed with Mizzery stealing his thunder, but afterwards came to his senses and celebrated with his partner.
"The Eagle Street Terrorist" Matt Clarke def. Tommy Gunn, The Violent NTT & Jon The Yob via Low Blow
In this hard-hitting Fatal Four-Way match, all four competitiors used their own unique style to try and gain the upper hand. Tommy Gunn amazed with his fast-paced aerial assault, The Violent NTT tried to dominate using his power, Jon The Yob showed off his brutal brawling offence and Matt Clarke was using all his wit and sneaky tatics. In the end it was Matt Clarke's cheating antics that paid off – after all four men had hit huge moves and still couldn't get the win, 'The Eagle Street Terrorist' hit a dirty Low Blow and a quick roll-up on NTT to become victorious.
Franco def. Kid Lightning via. Gorilla Press into TKO
With Franco making his first appearance in AWE, and Kid Lightning looking for his first big win, both men were pulling out all the stops here to get a 3 count. Near the beginning of the match, it seemed Franco couldn't keep up with Lightning, and the masked man was flying all around the ring impressing the AWE fans with his unique and spectacular offence. However, the Australian powerhouse Franco soon used his size and power to an advantage, and before long he was toying with Kid Lightning. Lightning tried to put up one final fight, but Franco delivered his nasty TKO and got the win in his first match.
Lee Hunter def. 'Dangerous' David Daniels via. Top Rope Splash to retain the AWE Title.
In this huge main event, one thing was obvious – Daniels wanted the title to be in the hands of Team Action, and he was prepared to do whatever it took for that to happen. The match was a clinic – both men traded holds, strikes and high-impact moves. Towards the end of the match, 'Dangerous' looked in control, and was delivering move after move to the lifeless Champ. Lee Hunter wouldn't give up, and continued to kick out, and eventually it took everything he had to start one last assualt agains Daniels. With Team Action desperate and irate, 'Death Row' Shaun Langley hit the ring to take out the man he lost the title to in the first place – Lee Hunter. He charged at him with a Big Boot but Hunter moved out of the way, and Langley booted Daniels instead. Hunter quickly took advantage and pinned Daniels to retain his AWE Championship.
After the match, Big Richard Action berated Langley, slapping him and calling him useless. 'Death Row' marched to the back, disgusted, while Hunter celebrated with his title. Axel Adams and Pure Xtacy tried to take Hunter out after the match, but he cleared the ring and sent a clear message to the AWE locked room – Lee Hunter isn't going down easily.
